By car, you’re within easy reach of Dinard, the seaside resort which looks onto Saint-Malo. Dinard and its Clair de Lune coastal walkway welcome you with a host of exhibitions year-round. The Rance Tidal Power Station, between Saint-Malo and Dinard, is well worth a trip!
Take a detour via Cancale and sample its succulent seafood and Baie de Cancale oysters in the many restaurants thronging around the port.
It would be impossible to enjoy a break in Brittany without stopping off at Mont Saint-Michel. Situated about an hour’s drive from Saint-Malo, it is known and recognised around the world. Don’t delay in visiting this marvel, its abbeys and its steep, winding streets.
For history enthusiasts, consider a trip to the Malouinières, local and authentic privateers’ and shipowners’ houses dating back to the eighteenth century, and notably the Malouinière de la Ville Bague in Saint-Coulomb (15 minutes from Saint-Malo).
About 30km from Saint-Malo sits the Medieval Town of Dinan. A characterful town bordering the River Rance, it oozes charm with its picturesque streets and monuments.
For the tiny tots, there are many different activities on offer. Of particular note is Saint-Malo’s Grand Aquarium, a 10-minute drive from the Corsair Town.
The Cobac Parc leisure and amusement park lies some 35km outside Saint-Malo and there is the Zoo de la Bourbansais too with its numerous animals and its spectacular shows.
